Meet Sterling Shannon (He/Him) Vice-President of Student Life 2024-2025
Sterling is a fourth year political science student with a passion for community building. His goal this year is to create an engaging student atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to get involved. His role as VP of Student Life is to ensure that student organizations like Clubs and associations are getting their voices heard, and getting the supports they need.

Meet Archit Singh (He/Him) Vice-President of Finance & Operations 2024-2025
Archit Singh, a second-year Business Administration student, is the 2024-2025 VP Finance & Operations. He secures sponsorships and oversees the financial stability of The ASU, ensuring transparency and integrity in managing its finances. His meticulous attention to detail and commitment to transparency ensure the Union’s finances are managed with the utmost integrity.

Meet Zahide Çam (She/Her) Vice-President Events and Promotions 2024-2025.
Zahide is a second-year standing Women’s and Gender Studies student. Her primary goal this year is to create enjoyable environments for students and communicate the existence of those environments to the Acadia community!
Zahide loves creating equitable spaces and engaging the Acadia community through events. As VP Events and Promotions, she organizes Orientation Weeks, HOCO, and ensures everyone has fun safely. She also gathers student feedback to improve ASU’s social media channels.

The ASU Councillors play a vital role in representing the diverse Acadia student body. Their responsibility extends beyond mere representation; they are dedicated advocates for all students, regardless of faculty, year of study, nationality, or any other personal characteristics. This commitment ensures that every voice is heard and valued within our community.
Each Councillor brings unique perspectives and experiences, contributing to a vibrant discussion on issues that matter to students. They work tirelessly to address concerns, promote inclusivity, and foster an environment where everyone feels welcome.
Meet Carmen Peng (She/Her) Sustainability Councillor 2024-2025
As a second year Biology student, Carmen loves gardening and all things nature. She is very excited to step into this role to promote sustainable techniques and ways of life to the Acadia community.

Meet Treyvon Nicolls (He/Him) Councillor At Large 2024-2025
His primary goals are to promote inclusivity amongst all students regardless of background, ethnicity, gender or abilities, and to enhance communication between students, professors and administration to ensure student concerns and feedback are heard and addressed.
Treyvon enjoys advocating for policies and practices that benefit the entire student body and promoting student engagement. As Councillor at Large, it is Treyvon’s duty to advocate for all students, making certain that their voices are heard and to collaborate with student organizations and clubs to promote student engagement and extracurricular activities.

Meet Cyenna Link Community Relations Councillor 2024-2025
Cyenna is a fifth-year Community Development student who is also enrolled in the co-op program. Her primary focus this year will be to act as a liaison between Acadia students and the Town of Wolfville. Cyenna has a strong passion for community engagement and is always looking for ways to connect various community groups.
This year, she will be able to put those passions to good use by promoting and highlighting town relations and student engagement in our community. If you have any questions, comments or ideas you’d like to share, please do not hesitate to reach out to Cyenna.

Emma, a second-year Politics major, is dedicated to enhancing campus accessibility and strengthening communication between the ASU and its club affiliates.
In her role, Emma will actively participate in various ASU meetings and serve on several committees to effectively advocate for students.

Genna Beed, Arts Senator 2024-2025
Say hello to Genna Beed, our Arts Senator for the term 2023-2024. Genna passionately represents the arts community, advocating for its interests and ensuring their voices are heard. Join Genna in making a difference for arts students at Acadia!
Julia Shirokov, Pure and Applied Science Senator 2024-2025
Julia Shirokov is the Pure and Applied Science Senator for the 2024-2025 term. Julia is a Mathematics and Statistics Honours student who will graduate after her fourth year at Acadia in spring of 2025.
She was the Pure and Applied Science Senator for 2023-2024 and is excited and honoured to return to the role and represent students in her department.
Julia is passionate about involvement, communication, and engagement within the sciences, and is always open to questions or comments via email!
Sophia Carpenter, Professional Studies Senator 2024-2025
Sophia is a third-year Accounting major and Acadia Women in Business Society's current Vice President of Engagement.
She enjoys reading, yoga, spending time with family and friends, binging The Office, and travelling. Thus far, Sophia's time at Acadia has been highlighted by volunteering, TA work, helping organize events such as International Women’s Day and Relay for Life, and meeting new people.
Sophia looks forward to connecting with fellow students across the diverse community of the Professional Studies Faculty and is honoured to represent her peers in the Senate this year. Her primary goal is to advocate for policies and ideas that support the best interests of the students in our professional community.
Theology Senator
To Be Elected in the next ASU election, our Theology Senator will represent the diverse perspectives and values of our theological community. This individual will serve as a beacon of understanding and empathy, advocating for the spiritual and academic needs of our students.

The Governance Committee is established to deal with all matters concerning the governance of the Union, the Bylaws, and policies, or any matters referred to it by Council; (b) The committee shall be responsible for reviewing the Bylaws, including any additions or amendments prior to appearing in a referendum for ratification, and ensuring that they are consistent with and reflective of the values of the Union

Appointed by SRC, this individual, known as 'The Chair,' assumes crucial responsibility for overseeing SRC meetings, ensuring strict adherence to ASU Bylaws and policies.
Gretchen Archivald, Deputy Chairperson 2024-2025
The SRC shall appoint a Deputy Chairperson (the “Deputy Chair”) who shall be responsible for assisting the Chair with respect to the conduct of SRC meetings in accordance with the ASU Bylaws, and policies
Ahmad Raza, Chief Returning Officer (CRO) 2024-2025
The CRO oversees student elections, ensuring a fair, transparent, and accessible process for all candidates and voters. They manage election timelines, promote voter turnout, and enforce rules to maintain election integrity.

Charli Siler, Deputy Chief Returning Officer (DCRO) 2024-2025
The DCRO supports the CRO in organizing and running student elections. They assist with logistics, help monitor candidate compliance, and ensure smooth, efficient election procedures.
