A - Acadia Spirit
Acadia students thrive on school spirit and pride. From cheering on the Axes to participating in local events, the Acadia spirit is a vibrant part of the university experience. It connects Acadia students to their peers and community. Student Union shares and boosts this spirit.
B - Board Representation
ASU representatives sit on major university committees, including the Board of Governors and Senate, ensuring that student needs are prioritized in all university decisions. From academic appeals to hiring processes, ASU plays a big role in improving student life by collabroating with the university and town.
C - Campus Media
The ASU supports student-led media such as the campus newspaper, the Athenaeum, and the radio station, Axe Radio, providing platforms for student voices and creative expression. ASU wants to show that it is by students, for students and about students in every chance, including free media.
D - Dental and Health Plans
The ASU offers comprehensive health and dental plans, for students to use during their time at Acadia. Our social media accounts actively post about the healthcare plans and we have a full-time staff, Tanya Comeau, to support students managing their healhtcare plans—her office is located in the SUB.
E - External Advocacy
Through provincial and federal lobbying, the ASU addresses post-secondary education issues, advocating for policies that benefit Acadia students on a broader scale.
F - Frost Week
Frost Week, organized by the ASU, is a winter celebration filled with activities, events, and opportunities to welcome thr students joining Acadia in the Winter semester.
G - Governance
The ASU is a student-governed organization dedicated to serving its members through effective representation, ensuring student voices are heard and acted upon.
H - Housing Assistance
The off-campus housing assistance in the Students’ Union Building help students find safe, affordable living arrangements in the Wolfville area.
I - Internal Organizations
The ASU hosts various internal organizations (IO’s), including the Acadia Women's Centre, Axe Radio, Acadia Pride, Acadia Mental Health Initiative, and Food Cupboard, supporting a diverse range of student interests and initiatives.
J - Joint Ventures
Collaborations with local businesses and community organizations enhance the university experience by providing students with unique opportunities and resources. Café Crawl during the Orientation Week is an example of this.
K - Knowing
Knowing is necessary in ASU. Knowing the O-Week events hosted by ASU. Knowing when the elections are happening. Knowing that students can book a room in the SUB for free.
L - Local Community
The ASU fosters a strong connection between Acadia students and the Wolfville community, organizing volunteer opportunities and community events. Local community supports ASU led initiatives, such as Axes in Action.
M - Mental Health Support
The ASU prioritizes mental health, offering resources, counseling services, and support groups to help students navigate the stresses of university life. Counselling Centre, free for students, is located in the SUB as well.
N - Nightlife
The ASU operates The Axe Bar & Grill, providing a vibrant nightlife scene with events like trivia nights, live DJs, and concerts, ensuring students have fun and safe social options.
O - Orientation Week
Orientation Week is a pivotal event that involves events prepared by the ASU, welcoming new students with a variety of activities and information sessions to help them transition smoothly into university life.
P - President
ASU Executive Team involves a president position. Every year, students run for the president position in the election. The elected president is in the office 40 hours a week during the summer and 20 hours a week over the school year.
Q - Quality Services
The ASU is committed to offering innovative and high-quality services, from support with academic issues to health and wellness programs, enhancing the overall university experience.
R - Representation
The ASU represents the interests of Acadia students at all levels, ensuring their voices are heard within the university administration and beyond.
S - Surprise
Asu is full of surprises! From surprise gift bags given out during events to social media interviews, ASU tries hard to keep things fun!

The ASU upholds and celebrates Acadia traditions, fostering a sense of community and continuity among students.
U - Union Governance
As an autonomous and independent organization, the ASU manages its own operations, finances, and legislative matters, ensuring it can effectively represent and serve the student body. Bylaws and governance documents of ASU are publicly available on acadiastudents.ca

The ASU offers numerous volunteer opportunities, encouraging students to give back to the community and gain valuable experience.
